So in the face of the bank deletion and differing opinions, I had an idea to replace the system. We could make it be tokens or credits instead of money, to keep track of smaller numbers and each member can handle it all themselves. For every WIN your horse gets you get one token or credit. You can just slap the number on your stable office somewhere or we could keep it on a board here. Maybe like a breeder's win could get 5 tokens, a HOTY win 3 tokens, and an undercard win 1 token. Then we can use the tokens as we would money. Members can be more or less detailed with keeping track of their tokens, by simply having the number posted or expanding out to include every month's in and out like the bank does now.
It seems the problem is time, but I think we're all trustworthy, so for the busier members, on their stable office listing like Tokens: 25 and just updating that single number each week or month I think would eliminate a lot of the headache some members have with the bank. Conversely members like me who enjoy the bank could continue the system like it is stating out where they got their tokens and where they spent them. Also members who want to keep track of their horse's earnings can still do so, but that would only be on the horse's page not in a bank account.
I think even the busiest members can at least count their wins for the week and add it to a single total on their office page, I don't think that takes very long, and we'll be able to maintain having a currency system without the need for any member to put anything into banks or update monetary amounts. Stud/brood fees for members who use to can be based on tokens, and we can eliminate payment for running shows. This system uses smaller numbers and by eliminating all the 2nd and 3rd place awards it makes it simpler. It also still maintains newer members will have more difficulty starting out in breeding fees and at auctions if we use tokens there too but I don't think even the largest stables will have millions and million and millions of tokens like they have in money now XD
