ADMIRALS LADY Jockeyed by Meredith Hently
Fall was here and everyone knew it made for cooler weather. Lawrence Kaine had acknowledged the fact when in the saddle of Genuine Risk as he rubbed his hands together to warm them up while he patted the colts neck for praise. Genuine Risk was the turf juvenile favorite at Nature Spring Acres which came to a surprise to the team, given True Enough was focused more towards the dirt surface. The black colt was feisty with a high strung demeanor who knew how to use to his attitude, he flicked his tail with his surroundings before being approached by Terri Lane abroad Admirals Lady, a filly that had much the spunk that Gene did when she was a juvenile. Mira nipped at Genuine Risk when approaching him and pinned her ears to the sight. "It's gonna be cold for the rest of the week I heard." Terri said holding the reins with a stern grip.
Lawrence could nod his head and before they started the two were joined by Meredith Hently upon Bonfire. The dark bay colt had been on a hiatus and was starting to come back to the racing scene. The twin brother to Santana's Legend surely had big shoes to fill this season and the next. "Don't look so surprised you two the cold could mean a good thing." Meredith said as all three of them were just out to gallop their horses to get a good feel of the fall season of the turf tracks. Lawrence shrugged his shoulders and laughed at his company before taking Genuine Risk out to start with a canter before a gallop much to the colt's displeasure of not being able to race the two. "Easy there Gene we are not racing right now boy this is just a workout." Lawrence said before he got a raise of the head in Gene. The two soon followed behind them with Mira taking the command well without showing hesitation, her maturity was working well in her favor while Bonfire was still coming around to his needs.
Bonfire was a complicated colt human interaction is not something Boon likes and when trying to place a jockey on him he fought each time. Meredith Hently learned that offering carrots and treats was the only thing able to distract the colt while mounting him was the only option. The colt would forget his rider and focus on the task at hand to win when necessary and when he followed the other two he seemed to understand the goal. All three horses were soon galloping away on the turf track like normal horses and not racehorses and they could feel the tense of their mood start to relax and enjoy just being a horse. When they came to their breaching point to stop all three jockeys headed back to the stables to let their horses rest for the big race day ahead of them.
