Hello all. There are several things coming up in the life of Frosty that are very important to take note of.
1) I am going to the Belmont Stakes this Saturday! So no activity on that day.
2) I am going on vacation with my mother June 13th to the 16th or 17th, I forget which. She warns me that our internet access will be limited during this time period, so I do not expect to be able to come online during this time period.
And the last thing is the biggest thing of all...
3) This summer, I am attending the French Language School at Middlebury College. This is a total immersion program for seven weeks, from June 26th to August 14th. Total immersion means that I am unable to speak, write, hear or read English during this time without violating the college's special Language Pledge. This technically means that for seven weeks, I'm banned from coming here lest the program finds out and expels me.
However, I intend to sneak on to record race results as I am able to, but I will be keeping all other interactions to the bare minimum. I will definitely not be writing workouts during this time period. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to deal with this situation. Here is what I have come up with so far:
- I will write all workouts in advance for both HOTY races and for the winter season. These workouts will be linked to the horses' pages like normal. It will all be there for judges.
- To deal with race entries, I am thinking of posting a thread with code on here and on GHF with each week's entry sheet including my planned entries for that week. This way, when staff are posting the entry sheets for each week, they can just copy my entry sheet and post that. My horses will be entered, so nobody needs to take the time to go and find my entries and post them in, and staff can save time by going to the one place for entry sheets.
- On the subject of recording race results, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to come online and record results every week. Should this be the case, I would ask kindly that judges refer to the previous week's results or judge without. If somebody is willing to record race results for the weeks that I miss, I would greatly appreciate it.
I am trying to minimize my usage of English for the sake of the program, but I understand I can't ask you guys to take care of everything during this time period. Either I just not race for those weeks and throw this year out the window, or I do it this way. Suggestions are more than welcome for how to deal with this.
