DANCING FOOL Jockeyed by Carlos Sanchez
BANE'S WORKOUT FOR THE KENTUCKY DERBY*
The bay son of Dancing in The Moonlight was bursting with energy along the back of his stall when he kicked the walls to grab attention and it had done the trick when Carlos Sanchez and Garrett Hently walked up to his stall with the laughter like they were at a comedy show. "Hey there Bane, I see someone finally slept through the night ready to work?" Garrett suggested to the colt before clicking the lead rope onto his halter and pulling him out of the stalls with Carlos to walk by his side. The Kentucky Derby was at its peak around the corner and the field consisted of mostly front runners.
Saintly Touch would remain in the middle of the pack to get started with Speak Easy preceding the pace of the pack, Baciami would start out into the lead and it would be most likely Dancing Fool and Ultimate Revenge at the back of the pack fighting to push for the lead within the back stretch. All of these entrants were high potentials for winning a race such as this and none of them should be under estimated. Dancing Fool was out of Moondance his half sister won a leg of the Turf Triple Tiara and Carlos would see that Bane would match his sister's victory. After settling into the saddle Carlos took the reins for himself and Bane thought he would live to his name and prance and move around without his humans consent.
Dancing Fool was not fond of other colts many called it a pride thing which would make this race more interesting to the least. "Carlos we need him to not rush to the lead immediately keep him at his preceding pace and hold off his big spark at the end. We need him to tire out those other front runners out so he can make his move on the outside. Garrett said before Carlos trotted Bane onto the tracks. Baciami was most likely set to lead the pack with the rest of them following so closely behind. Carlos pulled the reins to pull back his speed slightly to wait to use all that energy while Bane didn't like it he did as he was set to do. Pushing closer at the rail Bane brushed easily passed the half furlong pole not even showing a sweat.
"Come on Bane let's show them what's you got huh?" Carlos said into Bane's ear as he released the reins grip to release Dancing Fool at a whole new level of speed and stamina. During the final length of the back stretch Bane removed his preceding strides to aim for the lead pushing his legs farther apart to gain the wind to his own advantage. Could Dancing Fool keep up with the likes of this crowd, sure he could it was just a highly well classed field. Turning to the final turn Bane kept on moving away from the rails to come on the outside where he took on his saved energy and let loose to the finish where he finished on the proper digits.
Dancing Fool soon slowed his pace to a trot where he soon danced as if he was proud of what he did. This race would be the race of his lifetime and he would not dare to under estimate the challenges of this field. The colt was still young in the face but his heart was a bright as ever and while he showed off towards his jockey and trainer he would save his out burst for the Kentucky Derby where he hoped to live up to his bloodline name.
