FLAMING CONFIDENZA && MAVERICK HARRIS
GLORY BELL && ISABELLE NOTTINGHAM
The palomino and grey were a stunning pair in the morning light. The moisture was just beginning to burn off when they approached the starting gates, jockeys in tow. They were going to run a short four furlongs, just enough to take the edge off of the horses for the day. Before long Flaming Confidenza and Glory Bell were loaded in the gate and ready to go. Maverick sighed a breath of relief as the older horse loaded calmly, as he has had huge issue with it before. Bella nodded at the grooms and they opened the gate.
They immediately settled into a quick pace, running faster than usual, more of a sprinter pace than that of the distance runners they were. The palomino filly settled just in front of Glory Bell. Without a front runner, it left Denza in the front and Leo trailing just behind. They were to stick rather close to each other, not letting the other open up a huge distance. Felicity wanted them to learn to stick with other horses, no matter the type of field.
Neither Denza or Leo were fighting for their heads as they flew threw the first half of the work. They were used to longer distances so they weren't in their rhythm quite yet, only just beginning as their jockeys pushed for more speed as the four furlong marker crept closer. Maverick pushed the golden palomino as they battled head-to-head with the grey stallion. Bella was just as determined to get Glory Bell to run faster as they kept speeding up. In a flash, they were past the marker, neither horse had an open lead on the other. Snorting and blowing, both horses were slightly winded as they were lead away to be cooled out.
Up in the stands, Felicity checked her watch and whistled. 00:46:79. If she did not know better, she would say the two horses were sprinters.
