He'd been excited to say the least to see that The Innocent Skier again. He weaved his way through the crowd and stopped when he spied the bay stallion in his stall. It seemed like only a few months ago the stallion had been racing in Intrepid silks and now here he was about to begin his new career as a stud. He clicked his tongue at the familiar stud who was standing with that intelligent look in his eyes, the look that screamed of Little Miss Innocent. It was a trait she stamped all her foals with and Ian hadn't been an exception.

"Well, look at you all grown up Ian. You ready to start your next career." He smiled as the stallion snorted and flicked his ears at him and Nick smiled at the Firestone Racing crew. They had snagged a gold mine if they managed him correctly. Ian had been shuffled too much in his racing career to settle in and make a dent, but he was sure his career as a sire would much differently.

Johnny was in charge of staying at the stalls and managing the studs. Despite his small frame, the 30 year old jockey had a thing with people. So far, nobody had come to see Keegan or Rebel; all they did was glance at the two and walk on. There was one person, though, who had parked himself outside the stall of their most recent purchase. The Innocent Skier had been shipped in no later than 24 hours ago and then was immediately showcased at the Stallion Open House. Carter had told Johnny that he wanted the horse to get more exposure to the public breeding environment than he did on the track. The jockey sauntered over to the man with a slight limp, a permanent reminder of his career in the past. 

"He sure is a looker, ain't he. Just arrived last night." Johnny stuck out his hand to the not-so-familiar face. "The name's Johnny. Johnny Garner. I ride for Carter, and you sir must be Nick Landing of Intrepid Racing." Johnny chuckled at his own words. He didn't have to pretend he didn't know the legendary rider. Sure he was new around here, but that never stopped him from knowing others. 

"He sure seems to remember you folks. That's always a good sign." He nodded towards Ian, who flickered his ears back and forth between the two men. The bay stallion bobbed his head, as if to agree with Johnny's statement.

Nick smiled at the man and shook his hand in friendliness. "Pleasure to meet you Johnny! I'm glad someone has finally snagged this boy and will be using him. He reminds me so much of his dam and that's a compliment!" He had always hated and loved Little Miss Innocent. Hated when he and Comeuppance has raced against her and then loved her when she produced foals like Ian here and how own Lissome.

"I heard Ian was gonna be here today and I just couldn't stay away. I've always been a big fan of him. The boss man have special plans already for this guy?" He asked genuinely intrigued as they both stood and observed the bay. He laughed as the stallion's head bobbed in unison with Johnny's statement. There was no denying this horse's intelligence.

"I'm eager to see this guy finally get a real shot...he definitely deserves one." The horse had shown brilliance on the track, but being shuffled around is never conducive to success and that was all going to change now that he was with Firestone Racing.

Johnny shrugged at Nick's question. "Eh, I think he has a few slots open this year to the public. I think he's saving the farm a nice baby for the future, hence the public breeding. We both know that he should give others a chance before we keep a little munchkin for ourselves." He smiled, reaching in between the bars to scratch the stallion's face. Johnny chuckled, agreeing with Nick's statement.

"You've got that right. A horse like this shows so much potential both on the track and in the shed. It's just too bad his record doesn't really prove anything. I say the people who don't take this breeding offer are nuts, right Ian?" Johnny addressed the horse, who snorted in response. The man trusted Nick's motives, and if it was his choice he would give him an offer in an instant. But sadly, the decision was Carter's. Although Carter wasn't really one to say no. 

"Hey, if you're interested, just give Carter a shout. The man can't say no." Johnny smirked, eyes suggestive. The bay horse stood quietly in his stall, devouring every word they spoke.

Amber Black simply could not help herself. Galaxy Ruler...err, The Innocent Skier was in the open house. She simply had to stop by and see him, admire her dear stallion for herself, the first foal of her beloved mare. Stall twenty-one would be her first stop. She practically zoomed in on the stallion the moment she came in view of the stall. There has was, all beautiful bay perfection and class. If only she had a mare open for breeding in the next couple of years...she would have taken a foal out of this boy in a flash. Her green eyes glowing with interest as she considered modifications to plans and future ones sprang to mind. Oh yes, she had in mind a couple of good matches for this stallion. Many would not take place for a while, but there were definitely ideas.

She was so preoccupied with the stallion that it wasn't until she was standing in front of him and extending a hand out for him to nose that she realized there were people. Specifically, Nick Landing, her boyfriend, and a Firestone Racing rep. She was suddenly a bit aware of how rude her sudden approach could appear, but she just couldn't help it around Galaxy Ruler. She stepped back from Ian, a light blush appearing on her face as she walked forward to talk to the humans. She sent a bright smile in Nick's direction, coming to a stop at his side and leaning her chin on his shoulder. She was absolutely not surprised to note that Nick had picked up on how fantastic a stud prospect Ian was too and was here to visit him just like she was.

Hi. I'm Amber Black, owner of Stride Of Perfection, scouting out some outside lines for Indigo Morning, my new breeding division. Ian here looks as gorgeous as ever. She nodded to the stallion, green eyes sparkling with excitement and good humor.

Johnny could see it in the woman's eyes that she had a thing for the two studs - those being both the horse and Nick. He smiled courteously, nodding at her greeting. 

"Johnny Garner, obviously from Firestone Racing. I ride for Carter and manage some of his studs."  He could tell the moment that the woman showed up, Ian was instantly giddy. It was true that a horse could remember a person, and Amber had to be around far longer than Nick to make a horse look as happy as he did. Johnny chuckled, eyeing the stallion. "Yep, he sure does. He's a real regal stud, I'm surprised no one else picked him up when they had the chance." Johnny shrugged. 

"If you want to spend some time with him, you're more than welcome to. I can see that you want to. I'll just be over here if you need any questions, yeah?" He was more than happy to give some space to the woman and horse, because he also had to watch for other prospective breeders for his other studs.
