Well the Breeders’ Cup is just a few days out from running and Grayson Meadows would like to give the exclusive scoop on their contenders in the final countdown to the Breeders’ Cup.
Call Me Crooked - Juvenile Turf Sprint
Pegasus Wings was a later entrant to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, but the favoritism hasn’t changed. Crook has looked great all week and is full of energy and is ready to take down the boys. She put in a rocking final work that only solidified her current form, which is indeed very good. The daughter of Crooked Fire and Royal Assault is one win from Grade Two and many may think that this filly has to slow down at some point, but she shows no signs of doing that any time in the near future. Crook’s looking more like a 3 year old every day. She’s not going to be giving anyone a break in the Juvenile Turf Sprint, watch out, because this not so little filly is in it to win it.
Take Flight - Juvenile Turf
Often he is called the favorite for next years Turf Triple Crown and he looks to do nothing but live up to that name. Fly has looked great all week and just like Crook, he’s full of energy and is looking to be sitting on a big race. The son of Merry Bay King and Flying Loose seems to be destined for greatness and that could start with the Breeders’ Cup. He’s the full brother to Hall of Fame Inductee Simply A Flyer who won the Y8 Breeders’ Cup Turf and countless other races. It seems that the son of Merry Bay King is destined to win this race, and he’s certainly set up very well to take it. Allouette Divine - Filly and Mare Sprint
The previously unknown filly is out for blood and she looks to be the one to upset Ventura and Crowned Queen. After a sharp workout with Tears of Blood in which she kind of lolled through, Divie has been nothing short of energetic this week. Divie is looking to be in nice form and she’s set up for a very nice run, if the Filly and Mare Sprint plays out like it’s projected, Divie may just be the one to wear the Breeders’ Cup Winners blanket. Dare To Impress - Filly and Mare Turf
The regally bred daughter of Triple Crown Winner and Hall of Famer Impressario and Hall of Famer Dare To Dream may have failed to win the Turf Triple Crown, but she’s out to prove her form at the beginning the season was no fluke. A win against the best in the business in the World Filly Cup only solidified this fillies spot in the Breeders’ Cup. She’s more than willing to steal the win from Fleet Majesty and stablemate Passion Heart. She’s in a somewhat similar situation that she was in before the Turf Triple Crown, this filly could be sitting on a very big upset.Passion Heart - Filly and Mare Turf
The comeback mare is out to finish what could be a fairytale season, she may not have reached Grade one, but Passion Heart is still a serious threat. She put up a very fast and threatening workout and she only looks to improve off of that. She was pinning her ears, pacing in her stall, and snapping at anyone who walked by the very next day. She’s a handful for everyone around the stable, and her narrow losses in her past few races have made her quite the animal to deal with, horse or human, Passion Heart is downright ruthless and that will certainly show in her running come race day. She currently the 2/1 favorite, which came as something of a shock but Grayson Meadows feels it’s well deserved. There is no horse out there that has worked as hard as she has this season to get where she is, and winning the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf would be the icing on the cake for this fanatical daughter of Heart of Stone and Passionate Ruler. Tears of Blood - Breeders’ Cup Sprint
His recent run-ins with Mastermind should be concerning to Forbidden to Fly and his connections. The son of Cryin’ Out Loud is improving with age and he’s set up for a very nice run against what could be one of the greatest sprinters in the history of Green Horse Fields and The Wire’s history. While his three year old season may have been somewhat so-so, this stallion is out to ruin a fairytale ending and he won’t hold back. Tears of an Angel - Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf Sprint
A pleasant surprise to everyone really, this mare is the full twin sister to Breeders’ Cup Sprint contender Tears of Blood. After a very sharp work and a lack of entries, Grayson Meadows decided to send the daugher of Cryin’ Out Loud to the Filly and Mare Turf Sprint. She may be in over her head, or she may pull a big upset on long time rival Innocent Passion. Either way, she looks to be a looming threat and her so-so season could turn into a sensational season with a win in the Breeders’ Cup. Dreaming Of Glory - Breeders’ Cup Classic
There is no horse in the Breeders’ Cup who worked as oddly as Glory did. He had the assistance of four Quarter Horses to push him every step of the way during his workout and this horse loved it. He may be the longest shot on the board but that will make him quite the upset that would likely be talked about for years. The son of Bank On Glory and Once Upon A Dream is out to make a name for himself with his newly acquired Grade 3 status.
