June was a hectic month and everyone was ready to take on the summer challenge. It would be hotter outside and it made things a little difficult. The first one out of the stables was Chris Stevens and prideful GS SuperCharged. The bay son to Admiral's Revenge was proving to be hard working and effective. Chris settled the riled stallion down when he bobbed his head up and down and reared to set an example. Chris could only smile when Mason, one of their trainers, had Ben prepared. Chris grabbed the reins and walked him out to exercise his legs before going out for a run. He was one race away from becoming a G1 racer.
Ben was already on fire ready to run when suddenly he was approached from the side by A Royal Legacy. The son to Merry Bay King was much like his sire he held his head high as he walked with royalty and honor like a king would. Roy's ears flew back among seeing Ben where the two once collided in the pasture but they would be distracted upon this workout. Roy was a newest addition to the stables and he was a wonderful stallion indeed. David Monroe held his reins tight as David smiled towards Chris and his horse. It wasn't long until Carlos Sanchez approached on the back of juvenile Dancing Fool. The colt was the youngest and would be running with experienced horses in this workout.
Bane was quite difficult on the racetrack, he drove for competition and he was a feisty juvenile. Carlos waved at the other jockeys and walked Bane straight towards the track. Chris and David shook their heads as they got onto the backs of the horses. They were all onto the dirt tracks now and all three were ready and prompt. A Royal Legacy was up against a prize mare, Dirty Diana she was a high end mare and so far the only entrant. GS SuperCharged was up against high classed horses something of his caliber. Two of which shared some relation to him one way or another. Dancing Fool was racing against Nature Blues own Flaming Confidenza.
All three boys were ampt and ready to go. They were all routers and could go the distance with stamina. "Alright guys I think we should bring them out nice and easy." Chris suggested and David nodded as well as Carlos. Both Ben and Roy were strong closers they remained behind from Bane as they took off. Ben and Roy seemed to be the same height as Bane was quite smaller than the other two. Bane took off with an easy stride pushing away from the closers pushing himself away from the start. Ben and Roy took off behind Bane, Ben raising his head towards Roy to get a better look at him. Ben was not one to share so he began to push Roy faster waiting for the right moment to take off.
As the horses reached the back stretch, Bane began to keep a steady pace as Ben and Roy caught up to the juvenile feeling the challenge and determination. Once again Roy, began to slow down to save his energy, Ben stayed with Bane now ears pronged back wanting to teach the small colt a little lesson. Ben and Bane were straight in the middle of the track, Ben on the outside rushing past the final pole of the back stretch. Roy then decided to pick up the motive and head for it going in on the inside. The son to Merry Bay King was quite tricky and came on the left side of Bane. Roy picked up on Ben's actions and began to follow until the last minute before he took off with the same motion as his sire before him.
All three were aching for the win Ben decided to push forward running past the juvenile but Bane was still pushing himself faster. Roy wasn't going to let down and Ben was now full on his trail. GS SuperCharged was a stallion to pick up others and he would also not give up. When they were at the home stretch Ben and Roy took off at their last stride leaving the juvenile in the dust. Both stallions were neck and neck but Bane pushed even faster being on their heels. Roy passed the wire by a nose and then Ben and Bane. All three came to a slow stop to get the horses to calm down. "I don't call that going out easy." Carlos said with a smile. "Oh come on Carlos, you know how much Ben and Roy push from the back. Bane will get it eventually." David said patting Roy beneath him.
"Come on guys, this was just a workout not an actual race." Chris said taking Ben off the track to go get cleaned up. The others motioned the others to follow and they would all wait for the race day to start.
