With Y12 being the first year that The Wire was re-booted, Allure as she was affectionately known around the barn, gave the crowds and the competition here at The Wire something to cheer for and watch. Allure hit the tracks here at The Wire coming off of a disappointing 7th place finish in the BC Filly and Mare Turf. As soon as she set her feet onto the turf here, something within this filly just clicked. She won her first race and then another...and another. Coming in last wasn't an option for this bay filly any longer.
Win after win, Allure did a complete 360. Her record changed and the people here at The Wire watched her with a new respect. Into the fray she entered with a new confidence and a new determination and there was little that held her back. In one season, Allure went from a Grade Five to a feared Grade One and she did it always with class. Whenever Sillenia appeared Allure was there to challenge her and the two fought hard back and forth all year. Allure showed the world that The Wire horses were just as top notch as any GHF horse and adapted well to both tracks, taking the Cox Plate on GHF and many of the BC Filly and Mare Prep races. At the end of Allure's ONE YEAR on The Wire, she had 14 wins to her name!
The Mare On Fire, as she was named by the public, is the true underdog story and goes to show that any horse, if time and effort are put into it, can unleash a top quality horse to be feared. Allure embodies The Wire and is clearly a champion in the hearts of the public here. She won SIX end of the year awards in Y12 and named The Wire Horse of the Year!
