DECLARATE Ridden By Terri Lane
(Pandorra Derby workout)
[/size]Today was a great day. Terri walked out to the stables and located the one where the grey mare Declarate was in. Walking inside she rubbed the mare's muzzle gently placing the halter and reins on the mare. "Hey there Clara you ready for your workout sweetheart? I'm so proud of you." Terri said with a smile on her face. She grabbed a saddle and placed it on the 4 year old's back which seem to not bother the mare. Declarate had broke her Maiden in her 4th year of racing and been placed in many her past races.
The mare finally won the Cherche Moi Maiden here at the Wire which turned her into a Grade 5 Thoroughbred. She would have a nice rest after this coming race she would rest so that it would not cause stress to her. Terri helped herself up onto Clara's back placing her feet in the saddle sides and grabbing a hold of the reins guiding the mare onto the track and over to the starting gate where it would begin. The ground would shake while she would run across this track.
Clara ran 6-9 furlongs on dirt tracks it was her specialty and no one ever questioned it. After the bell Terri gave Clara the sign to boost it up as Declarate started an easy gallop down the start of the stretch. She preceded in mid pack staying close to others as she would always seem to run at a normal racing speed among the others. The few furlongs already gone as she then decided to pick up the pace galloping at full throttle.
Clara had a remarkable racing season coming in 3rd in most of her races was pretty well especially in her Prospect year. The mare then expanded her pace and went for an opening on the last turn. She paced herself quickly gaining towards the front as she gave it all her best and went for the finish. Crossing that line felt right as usual as she then came to a stop sticking her tongue out over the bit. The mare wasn't a two year old anymore and was a bit mature then the others at the stables.
Terri leaned down from on the saddle to hug the mare rubbing her neck. "There you go." She then got off the back of the horse and still held onto the reins pulling them tighter so the mare wouldn't freak out. "You will have a great run out there. I would like to see you beat those big competitors out there. Your a great racehorse." She said taking the mare back to the stables. The mare was four she was well matured and full grown. She was bred to run and she was bred to fight to win Terri was praying she would have another success in this months race.
