Well there's the sun now peeking behind some clouds and it seems it's going to be an okay day today for the second running of The Wire Finish Juvenile Sprint! There are three entrants today and all of them are top quality fillies...that's right FILLIES. The boys are definitely being put to shame today..

Let's take a look at the entrants as they run through the post parade.

In gate one is the favorite of today's race, Innocent Passion, from Stride of Perfection Stables. Already the two year old has claimed a major win on GHF in the Unicorn Horn Sprint so we know she's definitely up to the challenge and caliber of the field.

In gate two from Serendipity Hills is the lightly raced, but fresh Tears of An Angel. With only one win to her name and a third, she's one of the lesser experienced fillies on the track, but also the freshest. It will be interesting to see how she performs today.

Finally in gate three is Sophie's Voice from Silver Stride Stables. She's in much of the same position as her half sister, Tears of An Angel with only two races to her name, a first and a third.

The fillies load in fine fashion and now we wait....And they're OFF! Sophie's voice is quick to the front, but Tears of An Angel and Innocent Passion are right on her tail, with Innocent Passion on the rail behind the leader and Tears of An Angel running swiftly right beside the bay juvenile. Innocent Passion's jockey needs to be careful here to not get boxed in...this is a sprint...

Sophie's Voice is still running in the lead and the two furlongs have flown by and they're coming on the third...the race almost half over, but no one is making their bid...but Tears of An Angel and Innocent Passion aren't letting the chestnut gain any ground.

Now here we are, less than three furlongs and what is this??? Tears of An Angel is creeping up on the leader and Innocent Passion is swinging off the rail to prevent Tears and Sophie from blocking her out of the final charge...great riding!

And now here it is two furlongs left and closing and Tears and Innocent Passion have closed in on Sophie's lead...they're running three abreast... Who is going to break this pack and claim the lead...

One furlong left...and Innocent Passion is surging ahead of Sophie's Voice...it looks like the favorite has this...OH MY GOSH! No!

Tears of An Angel is rising to the challenge! Sophie's voice is attempting to rally, but there's no way she can catch the other two now... Tears of An Angel had now found another gear and is gaining on the lead! There's a few yards...no now feet...

WHO HAS THIS?! It's the WIRE! Ladies and Gentlemen....we'll have to take a look at the photos..

Sophie's Voice just didn't seem to stand out as much to me. Megs had thrown a lot of works into the filly in her down time and it really gave her the edge she needed for the win. Sophie's Voice is a great filly and believe me when I tell you it was a hard race for me to place. I would suggest giving her more race experience, it wouldn't hurt her and to post some works for her when you can. ;)
