[attr="class","congrats"] kc racing Y16 Artice #02 juvenile string & classic string Rise Me Gold: Rise Me Gold is and always will be the diva of KC Racing. She's moody and if things don't go her way she will throw a tantrum so big that it'll put a toddler to shame. She believes she knows it all and tries to take control of her jockey on the track at times with a "I can do this all by myself" attitude. Regardless, she's quick on her feet. Her two year debut has been off to a rough start but she has secured high placings in a couple of stakes races which ensures that she does have potential, which is also backed by her lineage. Trainer John Murchison has decided to pull Rise Me Gold from racing with Key West as the two will always outbeat the other. She is due to race in the Fantasy Stakes race next week and hopefully she'll be able to keep her head on for the distance as she truly does not like other fillies. Key West: Key West is a big brother kind of horse. He's goofy, playful and has this forever-a-colt mentality that makes many people fall for him. He's loaded full of energy and is always prancing around and sometimes works himself up before he's even gotten to the track. He's had a rougher start to his debut year than Rise Me Gold, but head trainer John Murchison hopes to get this first son of Key To Flight in the winner's circle this summer. Smooth Criminal: Smooth Criminal is the full, and only sister, to the always consistent Muggathugga. The filly has had a rough start to life, being mistreated by her owners before coming back into the hands of KC Racing, her home stable. This hasn't discouraged the filly, however, as she's placed third in her debut race before turning back around and nagging second place in her next race. She's an incredibly 'organized' filly and has a set schedule that she follows. She doesn't like change and trainer John Murchison doesn't see any reason to change the way she is raced as she has settled into it and is comfortable with it. She's due for another race sometime in June. PartyAtTheDisco: The bigger yet younger full sister to money earning Mardi Gras. She's started her debut year on the right track as well by coming in second and third respectively. She's huge at seventeen point one hands and comes off as intimidating, even to colts. The majority of the jockeys at KC Racing don't even want to handle her, let alone ride her. Alas Justin McKinney, former jockey to Mardi Gras, and now jockey of A True Hero, Like A Lioness, and now PartyAtTheDisco begs to differ. She's a powerful mover and is a lot of horse to handle but she knows her way around the track. Just like Smooth Criminal, however, she's going to focus on training for the remainder of the month and make a comeback to try and break her maiden in June. Muggathugga: The home-bred favorite of KC Racing. This is a big, beautiful colt that knows how to remind everyone that he is indeed a horse and a horse will do what a horse has got to do. He's prone to screaming everyone's ears off with excitable nickers and neighs and if he doesn't want to do something, he sure as hell won't do it. Muggathugga had a slow start to his two year old season last year, but this colt has been one of the most consistent horses here at KC Racing. He has maintained a 100% racing consistency well into his three year old season and has managed to secure nothing but wins and near wins this entire spring. He's a well rounded horse and loves to get his hooves dirty, especially on a sloppy track. He's doing so well that trainer John Murchison has decided to enter him into the Yukonite Derby series starting later this month. He's been doing well in his morning workouts and has maintained a clean bill of health since starting his racing career last year. We can only expect more greatness to come from this superb colt. Escape Artist: The speedster of KC Racing. Escape Artist is an incredibly versatile colt. He can run great on dirt or turf, and he can do sprinter and can also go the distance. This colt is the underdog of KC Racing and it's been a pleasure working with him throughout his two and three year old seasons. Not long after he was acquired another racing stable, the colt caused a major upset at the End of Year Juvenile Turf Sprint back in Y15, that was enough to mean something. Taking a glance at our racing roster, Escape Artist can be considered a good equivalent to Muggathugga. This is another colt who has maintained a 100% racing consistency throughout his racing career and let us hope that it continues to progress in that direction. The colt is taking a month off in May from racing to allow a minor injury to one of his hooves to heal completely before being put back out on the track. He'll pick back up in the last weeks of May. Sylvanite: The Prize Me Proud daughter that has proven to be quite the gem of KC Racing. Although small in stature, this filly has the biggest heart out of any of our horses. She's always got this determined, dignified air about her and even if someone is ready to give up on her, Sylvanite never quits on a race. This has been proven time and time again by her successful start to her three year old season by winning the American Derby, as well as the Party All Night Derby. She's a well managed filly that knows how to push her limits out on the track. She's due to race in the Acorn Stakes and later the Mother Goose Stakes, that's right Sylvanite will be running for the Tiara. She's a G4 filly, sure, but she has all the heart and willpower needed to go up against any other filly. According to anyone that acts as her jockey, she's a pleasure to ride as she doesn't fight you on the track. She sets her own pace and goes with the flow and no one ever has to tell her when to make a move, it's as though she already knows what to do and when to do it. Keep an eye out for Sylvanite as she fights the fillies for the Triple Tiara during her three year old season. A True Hero: This red colt was only recently acquired by KC Racing. He's a spaz, and no one outside of KC Racing typically takes him seriously. He jumps at everything, but isn't really spooking, and holds out his tongue and scrunches up his face and does things with his ears that makes him unattractive (and look somewhat mental at times). Alas, this colt is a terror on the track. Out of his 28 starts, he's placed in 25 of them. So far his 3 year old season has been great, great enough to enter him in the Summer Cup Turf later this month with Escape Artist, Muggathugga and Like A Lioness, with Sylvanite taking off for she is due to run in the Mother Goose Stakes the week before. Hero is a very fast colt and although he looks like he's need a therapist, he's a hellraiser on the track and this year will be no different. Like A Lioness: Another filly that was recently acquired by KC Racing this year. She's been out of the game for a couple of months but a quick workout proved that she's still got her game face on and is ready to take the tracks with a vengeance. Nala is a very built filly, her chest is wide and her frame is nicely filled out, she has the looks of a powerful mover and her gaits are always fluid. This is a three year old filly with a perfect racing consistency to date and a stakes winner for the Fantasy Stakes and Spinaway Stakes. She appears game enough to take on the Summer Cup and she is no stranger to HOTY races, having won two and placed in four others in her two year old season. |
