With two three-year-olds in the mix who are simply not bad in their own rights, I simply couldn't place the two-year-olds any higher. Out of the three Arctic Fox seemed like he was the closest to putting up a fight with them, and I had nowhere to put the other two than fourth and fifth. I'd keep an eye on these non-age-specific races guys, because a 2yo is only going to beat an older horse once in a blue moon. Not the greatest odds when you're running for wins ;)

Incineration: After taking a loss to the lone male in the race, Incineration's jockey ran a heady race. She sat the perfect inside trip, shadowing Laddie Luck. She stayed cool and collected when Catastrophic was put to the chase and made her bid in the stretch. Laddie Luck gave plenty of fight, but the gray lady wasn't going to stay down today. This could be quite the intriguing rivalry.

Laddie Luck: He was kept busy through most of the race by first Wild Tide and then Catastrophic who made an early bid for the lead. He's a very handsome colt with an extremely bright future. He ran a game race, but couldn't quite outfoot Incineration in the final yards.

Catastrophic: She's a very strong filly and I think this stakes experience will help her if she drops back into a maiden race. I think her talent is substantial, but the top two are very, very tough customers at the moment.

Wild Tide: I love this filly, but her first ever win was on the dirt while her most vivacious competitors had very strong records so far on the turf. She kept the pace strong, pressuring Laddie Luck through it all, but gave way when her fiercest turf kick was required.

Blue Moon: Finally got a great set up going short and mowed the top three down in the stretch. She's definitely a filly that could be any kind.

Deathflash's Truth. It actually worked in his favor that Hide N' Seek wanted the lead badly from the get-go. He let the speedster go after learning in his first out race and settled into a nice cruising stride alongside Indigo Dream. He kicked on nicely in the stretch, but missed the win by a length to the filly. He definitely will be better the more he races.

Indigo Dream: Seven furlong is at the short end of his distance limitations whereas the top two found themselves in prime territory. He's done well before with a second place finish at the distance in his one other start, but I see him going a little longer. He could be anything so definitely experiment with longer distances.

Hide N' Seek: I once had a suicidal front runner and she ended up being inducted into the Hall of Fame. These suicidal front runners are intense and I think should be started at the shorter end of their distances and worked up with more experience and maturity. As a juvenile racehorse, maybe keep her to five and six furlongs at first, then lengthen her out. She was amped up by the exciting environment and broke like a quarter horse. I'd honestly rather not make it a four-horse field when it closed as a three-horse one, but if the other two are okay with it I don't really mind!

I would have said yes, but then I realized he was a grade one runner and that would maybe hurt Lee's chances in this race. I think he could have easily run in the Alfred G Vanderbilt instead since he qualified for that better anyway. Sorry Frostykins<3 He can re-route to the STFO next week for a March race instead
