The staff of Nature Blues hadn't seen the Wire track in awhile given their short break from racing they had come back better than ever. When returning it seemed the stable welcomed The Apathy back to their stable with open arms. She had done so well under Grayson Meadows and with some changes the filly was retrained for the dirt surface who owned it as they would say. This would be the first workout The Apathy would have back at Nature Blues. Meredith Hently was her jockey, she rode Comet's eldest sister Reflected in Water a mare who rode to victory many of times and she would help The Apathy start. To join them was juvenile Firefall and senior Tears No More who flourished in his own manner.
"Alright gents, how about we take this smoothly, Comet hasn't been with us in awhile lets make her feel at home again." Meredith said as the boys just rolled their eyes and the horses trotted away to start. Trouble headed immediately into the lead showing a burst of speed as it so may go David holding onto the reins to hold his grip. Firefall soon on Troubles heels stalking the movement of the older stallion. Following behind them was Meredith on the back of The Apathy once again and yes Meredith was quite familiar with Comet's racing style it was similar to Remi's only a bit more precise. The filly did extremely well under Grayson Meadows and now she would inspire Nature Blues again. The bay filly held her position closing behind the males before pursuing them onto the back stretch.
FireFall began to stalk the monstrous Tears no More but not before The Apathy picked up passed the Catching Fire son to precede onto Trouble. "Oh come on Mere that's not fair!" Sable said keeping his focus on Firefall as now the two trying to catch up with the sprinter. The dire need to win was something Comet was trying to fulfill and she would do it. The filly soon came eye to eye with the elder horse who was not happy with his rival. David looked over with a smile and a shake to his head. "Alright Mere let's take it up a notch...lets go!" David said teasing Meredith with every inch. Tears No More was one of Reflected in Water's rival while not in the same race but the same level and Meredith would seek out such rivals for the horses she would ride at least in her mind. Comet was very well to her own league as she and Trouble passed the wire with Firefall a foot behind them.
Meredith felt a relief that The Apathy liked the challenge and she rubbed the friendly filly who was retrained to take the dirt surface and share it with other greats. It would only be a matter of time to see how well Comet would do with such a division and under Nature Blue colors once more.
