Once the three previous horses were washed down and put away, Carter walked down to the track to meet his next bunch of horses that were waiting somewhat patiently on the track. Innerstellar was the first one he spotted, and the only one who was kicking up a massive fuss. His tail was swishing angrily and his ears were pinned flat against his head, threatening to attack anyone who came close. Hellfire was expressing her own opinion towards the colt’s attitude by baring her teeth and warning him with a swish of her tail. Whispering Melody was watching the two younger horses in horror, wondering why they would do such a thing to each other. Siren was huddled by Wendy, also confused as to why the juveniles were acting the way that they were. Siren and Wendy were pretty much similar, but Siren would be the one to bite if you weren’t treating her the way she wants to be treated.
Four riders were walking to the track for their mounts. Talia made her way to Wendy, who was standing patiently for the girl, nickering softly when she saw her. Sammie went towards the Flame, and was given a leg up by Carter. Devon was on the only colt in the group, and once Tyler spotted his rider, he calmed down just a touch. His ears were still flat against his head, but with a few soothing words from his rider, he slowly relaxed. Because Devon was riding Tyler, Carter had James get on Siren since she was a fairly straightforward ride.
They were going to go four furlongs, with a one furlong gallop. As soon as they were given the signal to start, Tyler immediately went straight into the lead, surging ahead followed closely by Siren, Hellfire, and Wendy, who were behind settling in their positions. Although Tyler looked like he was running out of control, he was really strategizing in a weird way. Devon knew the horse enough to let him figure things out, and he was very smart about his decisions. James followed Devon’s advice on riding the three year old sprinter and let her tailgate the front runner, allowing her to think. Sammie made her move along the quarter mile mark, urging Flame to challenge the front horses. Wendy followed her, although they stayed in their positions and didn’t really start to challenge each other.
The final furlong came up way too quickly, and Siren started to increase her speed towards Tyler’s rump. Wendy and Flame were moving on the outside fairly quickly, challenging the two front runners. Siren was almost at the point of overtaking Tyler; the younger horse wasn’t giving up any time soon. The finishing line was finally in sight, and it was four horses wide on the track, each horse switching their lead. Whips cracked as it was Siren who came out on top, followed closely behind by Wendy, Flame, and Tyler. Although in the gallop out, it was Tyler who was back on top, fighting for his revenge on Siren. Flame and Wendy galloped out confident, and Carter was sure they would be in top shape for their next races.
