REFLECTED IN WATER Jockeyed by Meredith Hently
AFFIRMED GODDESS Jockeyed by Terri Lane
Remi's Workout for the Spring Dawn Treader
Firma's workout for the Dark Sunrise Distaff
February Week Two
The level of the playing fields were quite harsh in the Spring's Dawn Treader cup, a race full of well known horses. This race was going to be an epic turn of events with entrants like Nightshade in the mix along with Sweet Inferno, the most dangerous horse on the field was Italian Ice the mare who made history. Meredith Hently was so keen on aiming Reflected in Water to stay with the black mare's pace but with a variety on the field she would not under estimate any advantage that Ice could take. Reflected in Water walked with an anger in her eyes along with rest and sleep to get her going. The bay mare was facing a tough field but she could pull it off she had before.
Meredith walked Remi to clear her nerves while Terri aided Affirmed Goddess for this workout. Meredith soon took Remi's muzzle in her hands and looked at her softly, "We have a big race for you for girl. The Dawn Treader, and you'll be facing Italian Ice out there. I am gonna love to see you beat her." Meredith said before rubbing Remi's nose who perked her ears forward towards the humans words bobbing her head soon after. Walking Remi out to the track the filly rose her head in a proud stature rubbing the bit over her tongue where she stood impatient for her running companion she would be working with.
Affirmed Goddess was a tough case to crack but all together Terri would seem to manage her today she rode one of the most feisty fillies within Nature Blue's and that was Rules of Passion. More or less Firma was only here because of her lazy venue in the stalls. She would set her own pace while growing confidence in each other so it seemed. Terri rolled her eyes when Mason decided to sit on the sidelines where he would watch and observe the horses he was so keen on training to the top. Reflected in Water looked quickly at the chestnut filly approaching her and wiggled her head just a bit towards the immaturity of the filly. "Alright Meredith, let's try to break even don't let Remi get to cocky out there if you feel she is rushing the last turn of the quarter mile pull her back before turning her loose." Mason was eager to get Reflected in Water focused and ready.
With a small tap to her side, Reflected in Water started with a run before she set out to a gallop. Firma moved to find her strides and threw herself passed Remi to shoot for the lead. Remi threw her ears back in frustration but held back to save her energy for the part of the track that did matter. Remi loved to run no matter where the destination it would be. Her frustration was that Firma was a filly and her slick dear charms would not work on the filly and that meant she would work on the bullying part. She began to push forward with the going from her jockey where she matched Firma's stride coming from the outside where she could be seen looking into the Fillies eyes before throwing a bite at the juvenile to scare her into backing off. Firma paid no attention to Remi in fact she threw nips and bites right back before Remi passed her with the last turn.
"Let's go Firma give it your best shot." Terri stated feeling the faster strides being given but before she was able to pass the wire, Remi had already beaten her to it by two lengths. The adrenaline rush had Reflected in Water rear up with a nasty scream and many wondered where she got that ignorance from and it certainly was not from her sire. Would Reflected in Water beat Italian Ice in a monstrous dual along with the prized Nightshade? Anything were possible, she was a four year messing with the dwellings of five year old's. She had the heart of gold and would push to see that she was seen out there. Firma had a win coming as well and everyone was sure she would do it this time around.
