Dancing Fool had grown to be a stubborn colt indeed still not taking the liking to those of his own gender he had become quite a challenge for them. Livin' The Jazz was a determined stallion and as the younger horse approached him with such an attitude Jax shook his head and bit at the bay colt before being pulled away by Chris. Bane was entered in the Insight Stakes a race for the turf tracks something new to take on this year. Bane would hope to do better on the turf tracks, like his sire he would try it out for the better. Bane pranced out onto the track with his head held high but a angry glance shooting straight at the black stallion taking in his competition he snorted before looking away in despair.
The Insight stakes was a massive field so far with Spitterfly taking the first gate the grey filly by Spitz and Sweet Stalker. Holding Gate Three was Summer Romance by DW Flamekissed and Ashanti. Gate four was was a horse like Bane, Dual surfaced trying out for the turf and that was Vetanda, a colt by FS Mockingbird and Blanchette, he would be the colt Bane would take on as his competition and it would be worth it all the way. Next is a unknown lined horse, Inferno whom had been in recovery after a leg injury. Chris would be sure not to under estimate the stallion running in this race. Last but not least holding Gate Six was stablemate StarFire, a filly by Bucephalus out of Fly High Silver. Bane would have his hands full with this crowd and it could be the best challenge yet.
Livin' The Jazz was in a smaller field including him their would be four horses so far. A field that held horses such as Mardi Gras, Trinity, and Lost in Memories. Jax was in for a loop but he would pick a fight with his energy he could swing from first to finish in a heart beat. Jax was a fine stallion who loved to do what he did best and he would take Chris to the winning circle as well. Chris was quite experienced with horses with tempers heck he just retired his best horse yet Ben. Livin' The Jazz would race this full season or until he reached his Grade One limit. Chris aided the horse onto the tracks with ease before Jax took matters into his own hands and flung straight forward to take off on his own accord.
The two took off with a steady pace Bane brushing the side of Jax to let him know he was there but Jax pulled back releasing his push for the lead Bane searching as he continued not bothered by Jax's pull away. The bay colt tried to fight his eager rider but Carlos gripped the reins tight to pull Bane to a slow the three year old tried to resist but was won by his jockey's efforts before holding back the lead to let Jax push to his stride. The turf seemed to not slow him down but he gritted the bit under his teeth looking the black stallion in the eyes. Carlos looked at Chris with a laugh and a smile as the two horses collided next to each other. "Come on Chris! Come Oonn!" Carlos said taunting his fellow team Jockey.
Chris had laughed alongside Carlos but took the challenge nonetheless. Dancing Fool was the preceder now locking his ways with Jax until Chris held the reins as tight as he could lifting his weight from the back of the horse to appear lighter and gave Jax the sign before the black stallion began to pick up a better speed on the small bay colt. The home stretch came easy and Jax flew like an eagle to beat Bane by a length. Pulling them to the side to walk off the work Chris smiled bowing down on the back of Jax with him bobbing his head to the win.
Bane had not taken the defeat lightly and reared up to its demise, Carlos held on and patted the colt with a gentle touch and a calming voice, "Hey it's okay their Bane just a little practice no need to get moody over it." He said Chris laughing at the horses' sense of humor. "Come on Carlos let's get them back to the stalls before someone throws a fit." He said trotting Jax off the turf like he had not run yet.
