HATTER'S WORKOUT FOR THE FREEDOM OF THE CITY STAKES
FIRMA'S WORKOUT FOR THE JANVIER MAIDEN
JANUARY WEEK ONE
The morning had been cold this morning and Chris had his long sleeved outfit on when he approached the barn to get Chaotic Limitations out of her stall. The young juvenile was a nasty girl following her stubborn dam to boot. The chestnut filly pranced out of her stall with a snort and the shake of her head pushing Chris a little to go a little faster. This little filly was the younger half sister to G2 Reflected in Water she would have eyes on her out there. She was by freshman sire Limited Bluez and she would determine his lines well. Walking her out to the tracks they were soon crossed by Meredith Hently and Affirmed Goddess.
Affirmed Goddess was also a juvenile, a chestnut daughter to Affirmed Gold and out of Dark Goddess both foundation horses. Firma was well stubborn but she was also a filly that liked to be kind but she did have a wild side that many thought was interesting. Both fillies would race in the first week of January against other Juveniles. Hatter backed up when approached by the other chestnut filly and screamed at her grasp. Not long after Hatter reared up with Chris holding on before setting her loose to gallop along the tracks, her impatient mannerism would cause her problems but they would work on that as she would progress. Meredith was keen on getting Firma to relax while on the tracks and push herself whenever she wanted and needed to.
Firma grasped what needed to be done and she followed Hatter with a careful distance before approaching her hind side and pushing for the lead as she was trained to do. Both fillies had that attitude of competitive nature and Hatter rammed the chestnut filly from the outside as Chris then pulled her afar but held her position with a snarky snort through her nostrils as both horses were eye to eye. The Cry Out Chaos daughter was mushing through the dirt with all of her will. Firma pushed faster as she was told and kept her strides even with Hatter until the home stretch approached with an wide view.
Hatter soon picked up her stamina pushing away from Firma and like her dad she shot forward like a bullet to make length behind her. Firma held her positive run to a faster speed when the two passed the wire, it was Hatter who won by a neck. Firma grew displeased with her stablemate and rose her head and trotted off as if to ignore Hatter and pout away from the field. Only the results would tell of their earned hard work only a few more hours.
