The Dubai World Championship was originally created to pit the best distance racehorses against each other over a grueling sand course that very few had any prior experience over. It is a test of courage, of mettle, of raw talent and ability. It is one of the greatest races of the entire season because it pits the best dirt distance runners against the best turf distance runners. It is rare in its form because the usual season allows great horses to remain separate over their respective distances where they have home course advantage. That course advantage is removed in this race, along with the race created to run side by side with the Dubai World Championship: The Dubai World Sprint.
The Dubai World Sprint is run over a blitzing, heart-pondering seven furlongs. It tests raw, brutal, vicious speed and pits the fastest horses against one another in the ultimate battle of tenacity and heart. Seven furlongs over the sand will be the toughest race these speedy horses have ever faced, for not only is it deep and heavy, it slides from beneath them as they run at their top speed.
