Let's be real. There are two things for certain that every racing stable gets excited about:
1) Winning Races
2) Foals and Breeding Season.
So with all the talk of upcoming foals that have been born Y12, we had to go to the well-established Intrepid Racing, Inc. to see exactly what they were up too. We were shocked when Nick Landing permitted us to come in an examine and document his current crop of weanlings. Usually very private in most of their affairs, we got the insider story on some of IR's breeding plans and goals.
So without further delay here are the upcoming threats from the stock of Intrepid Racing, Inc.
We asked Nick to list off the first foal that poped into his head and the name that we heard was, Ultimate Revenge. This weanling is sired by none other than Intrepid's own TC Winner, Admiral's Revenge - a stallion Nick himself personally bred, raised, trained and raced. His dam is ARS' Charisma. Out of two grade one classic runners, "Fin", as he's called around the barn is bred to run in the Y15 Triple Crown.
One filly we were hoping Nick would let us peek at is none other than, Meritorious. Sired by Star Thoroughbred's Bank on Greatness. Bank on Greatness is a full brother to Triple Crown Winner, Impressario. Her dam is Intrepid's own Admirable, full sister to Triple Crown Winner, Admiral's Revenge. So ultimately, what we have here is a pure lined Triple Crown legend, but this filly isn't alone in this greatness. She in fact has a twin, Impressionable. As it stands, it appears that Intrepid Racing has two viable Y15 Triple Crown Contenders.
A much anticipated foal is from Intrepid's prized mare, Atalanta. This proven mare has had her first foal out of Hall of Famer, Royal Red Richard. Proteus Prince is a black gem. This colt is expected to make quite a splash on the scenes. Half-Sibling to greats such as Pegasus Wings, We're eager to see how this first foal of Atalanta and proven Hall of Famer performs.
This dark bay filly is yet, another Y15 Triple Crown Contender. Her sire is none other than Furious Passion, the GHF Y10 Triple Crown Winner. Cali is a perfectly pedigreed filly. Her dam is a well-proven thoroughbred show mare. Within her pedigree lies the names of Impassioned Wind, HoF Rising Fury, GS Ultimate Challenge, Smiles Boo, Fly High Silver, High Times and Forgotten Promise. Silver Tide is the dam of former TC Competitor Akuma Battlecry. All in all, this fillt was bred to run on the dirt. Backed by some of the biggest MHS and GHF thoroughbreds, Cali, as they call the filly, is bred for success and the Intrepid Racing team simply can't wait to see how she performs.
A sneak peak of some of IR's Y12 foal crop, you can be sure that this will be a group of foals to watch closely.
