Souvenir Springs To Success
Souvenir, a four year old colt, has returned to the track with style this week. Sired by Admiral's Revenge, a triple crown winner, Souvenir claimed the MHS Kentucky Derby before his stable went into administration. Souvenir was reclaimed by Nick Landing of Intrepid Racing and sold on in a recent sale where up and coming stable, Silver Stride Stables, snatched him up in return for reserves to Paradise Island and Instant Success.
Souvenir ran in the Anathema Stakes this week against Worldbreaker, Destined For Glory and Alluring Assault - all top class racehorses - and was able to come away with a stunning victory. Jockey Mitch Evans is reported to have been bouncing around when the commentator's results came through and was certainly grinning when we saw him leaving the track later the same day.
We were able to catch a statement from trainer, Matthias Lanning, after the race. "Souvenir is a talented horse, all it took was some time to adjust and to get to know his new jockey. Mitch came in confident but aware of exactly who he was facing and luck was on our side today. I am sure that Souvenir will continue to wow the crowds for a few years yet"
What will be the next move with this incredible four year old? We wait to find out.
