BOWEN ARROW
Ridden by
Chris Stevens
[/size]Chris was back riding on the track and this time he took out Bowen Arrow for a run. The colt was still new and Chris had to get him used to the race coming up. It was April and it was time for a workout for this young colt. Walking into the gate was not a problem the colt raised his head eager to get out of it, to run as fast as he could and in some seconds he would. "Let's see what you got for us today." The jockey said lowering his head to get ready as the gate opened and the colt dashed off with his ears perked back. With all the other horses on the track the colt remained in the middle since that was his specialty of being in mid-pack with others.
He was great on Turf track and mostly preferred it than others. Coming along the back stretch colt moved quickly towards the front keeping his stride with others not making any sudden moves at first. The colt came in 9th at the Stable Face off at Green Horse Fields which stated he still needed a lot of work. Chris then looked at the last turn that came ahead and then showed the colt the whip and Bow suddenly made his move towards the front and picked up the pace. He was neck and neck when he reached the last turn and coming to the finish he was a few inches at that. Coming to a halt the colt blew through his nose and raised his head once more.
"Woah, easy there boy we're all done now." Chris decided to walk him around a bit get him familiar with the track as he then headed back to the finish line seeing where the colt could at least pushed more. He was ready for the race and Chris would be satisfied either way but, he would most definitely push for first place this up-coming race as well as he would with his other horses. But, for now this would have to do. This workout may have been short but, it was a great one and they both got there exercise in pretty well.
