SPIRIT OF JOY

(Y12 March Week Four Turf WORKOUT)[/center]
This coming up race was another joy for the colt and the jockey Spirit loved to run and was a natural on the track after all he was a Thoroughbred. Chris saddled up Spirit who seemed in a good mood. Mason was with the two given he was the trainer of the colt. Slipping up onto the colt's back Chris fixed his feet into the saddle grabbed the reins and started to walk him to the gate. He guided him to the gate waiting for the bell to ring.
Spirit of Joy was in the gate standing absolutely still in the gate the 3 year old colt was a front runner or so he always stayed to the front fighting for he wants. When the gate opened the colt was off speeding off towards the front as usual. The colt kept a straight stride down the back stretch holding his pace in the exact same speed from when he started. The colt was eager to get this race on and he was eager to win with every breath in his body.
The last furlong came to reach and the sight of the finish was at bay. The other horses training on this track was in for a well surprise. "Come on boy let's show him!" Chris hollered out to the colt. Spirit of Joy ran on the outside never on the inside given he hated the railing for good purposes. Seeing the other horses who were right at his muzzle he galloped faster picking up a little more speed. He breezed great as he passed the finish line a few feet from the others.
"A little close there don't ya think boy?" He said slowing the colt a walk who was sweating proud of his run. The race was a few hours away and Chris wanted him to be ready. Chris got off the Thoroughbred checking his hooves to see if there were any dirt buildup but, he was good. Grabbing the reins he pulled the colt back to the stables to get prepped up. It was a good workout for the next race.
