KING'S RANSOM ridden by Carlos Sanchez
AUGUST WORKOUT
It had been quite awhile since King's Ransom seen the dirt track. The colt had been put up for sale but, had no offers at the time. With the schedule clearing up Carlos decided to work him and perhaps get him ready for future races and known to others before anyone became interested. He was a distance colt that stood 17 hands that could be used for both flat racing and for the Steeplechase. He was trained for both but, at the moment he was preparing for a flat race this coming August.
Carlos trotted the colt out onto the track who gave a little fight at first not wanting to move forward but, after a long fight Carlos was able to push the colt to go forward and King's Ransom was off sprinting like their was no tomorrow. He ran like the wind coming to the turn slowing down as King was a preceding horse he started out in the middle of the pack all the way until coming close to the end where King let out a hard kick in his gear and took off like the wind.
King's Ransom hadn't been on the track since April and he had many days to be free from the track but, he was also up for sale but, Bowen Acres would give him a shot with his temper as it was it was a bit difficult to handle at times but, the team got through it. He was the second horse at Bowen Acres to have a very nasty attitude the first being Katerina's Love who retired months later from a tendon injury.
Coming to the end of his workout the colt trotted again and started to come to a prance feeling the dirt beneath him. King reared up when he stopped and Carlos immediately jumped off so he wouldn't become injured. "Woah easy their King...Stop! your fine." Carlos still a hold of the reins so that the colt wouldn't just take off and hurt someone. Of course, he finally settled down but, wouldn't let Carlos on his back again so he would just walk him off the track and headed back to the stables in hopes for race day.
