MIDNIGHT THRILLER
Wow did it ever feel good to be done with the barn reconstruction! Melanie pulled her tuque over her ears and then placed her helmet over top. It was still quite chilly outside and she was catching a cold. Stupid weather. Then she smiled. The weather didn't really bother her, not today. Finally they were done with the barn and breedings and everything else that was making the farm so crazy. It was time to relax and get back into the swing of things.
A cold hand landed on Melanie's shoulder and made her jump up in surprise. She turned around to see her sister smirking at her. "You ready to get it on?" Melanie rolled her eyes. "You know that kind of sounds sexual eh?" Kirsten flushed. "Whatever, let's go." Melanie giggled under her breath and followed her sister onto the track. She loved to get under her skin. It was quite amusing. I guess that is what sisters are for eh?
They each received a leg up from their stable hands on their mounts for the morning. It was a "just for fun" morning today to celebrate the fact that they had finished building the barn. Kirsten threw her arms around Midtee with glee. She was so beyond happy to have her filly back home. Midtee was looking to be in great shape. Kirsten had no doubt that Ripley would take care of her prized Night Stalker baby.
Melanie rubbed the neck of her own mount, Silver Secret. The gray filly was developing slowly but surely. Melanie had a feeling she would really peak as a four year old. Which was weird since her parents had both been unreal 3 year olds. Oh well, Sissy will get there yet.
Kirsten urged Midtee into a figure eight. As she turned towards Melanie she had a gleam in her eye. "Hey, wanna race?" Melanie laughed. "Oh yeah. You betcha!" Kirsten winked. "See ya at the fifth pole in ten." Melanie shook her head again. She loved days like this...
