As everyone may know, the Breeder's Cup is approaching quickly which usually signals the end of a racing season. At this time, most barns will be finalizing their breeding plans and retired roster for the coming year. Firestone Stud, a partnership of Firestone Racing has officially released a statement regarding the status of their older horses and broodmares.
Hi everybody, Carter Leeson speaking, head trainer at Firestone Racing. I have partnered up with both Johnny Garner and Jenna Stafford to release this official document of retired horses. The following horses from FIRESTONE STUD INC. will be retired:
Both mares will be retrained to be riding horses following the Year Sixteen breeding season.
As for retiring FIRESTONE RACING horses, the following is a list of retiring seniors.
[/i][li]ARLEQUINN - With little undercard sprinter races, Arlequinn was not ready to face the big leagues until this season. He, too, came to Firestone as a grade four, but came a little late in the season. In his first race with Firestone, he ended up coming in first which just set up a nice end of Y14 for him. With perseverance, Airy too will be retiring as a grade one turf sprinter. We will see how the rest of his season will go and he may or may not be entered in the Breeder's Cup.[/li]
[li]AQUATIC ADDICTION - After this former SOPS stallion had a rough and slow four year old season, he has made such a remarkable comeback within a matter of races. He has proven himself much more than Carter could ever expect in one season and he deserves to take a rest and become a champion in the breeding shed as well. There are already plans lined up for the bay stallion that will commence in Year 16 following his Breeders' Cup run.[/li]
[li]SOPHIE'S VOICE - With only three races in her four year old season, there didn't seem to be much hope in the chestnut filly. However in a matter of races, the spirited filly started racking up the HOTY exposure and landed herself a few wins to reach Grade One. Her recent starts have all been decent placings in HOTY races, which should set her up nicely for some wins soon. After her Breeders' Cup run, she will be bred to none other than Aquatic Addiction for a Year 16 sprinter foal.[/li][/ul]
All of Firestone's other seniors will continue racing in Year Sixteen, seeing as they are not ready to be retired quite yet.

Hi everybody, Carter Leeson speaking, head trainer at Firestone Racing. I have partnered up with both Johnny Garner and Jenna Stafford to release this official document of retired horses. The following horses from FIRESTONE STUD INC. will be retired:
- STRIKE THE WIN - Dam of 6 well-bred foals including Grade One Winning Touch, Grade One Indian Darling, up and coming Awestruck, Key West, Charmed Weapon, and an in-utero foal out of Dark Charmer that will be born in Year 16.
Both mares will be retrained to be riding horses following the Year Sixteen breeding season.
As for retiring FIRESTONE RACING horses, the following is a list of retiring seniors.
- SILVER SERENDIPITY - The little grey sprinter has proved more to Carter than he had ever expected. Demi came to Firestone as a grade four racehorse with no races under her belt in the current season. With lots of dedication and help, Demi has finally reached Grade One and is doing extremely well against proven horses such as Demonic Desires and Tears Of An Angel. She will be headed to the Breeder's Cup F&M Turf Sprint at the end of the season.
