EXCALIBUR'S STONE Jockeyed by Sable Evans
January week 3
Today was the day that Rules of Passion and Excalibur's Stone would have their first workout with each other. Both were siblings and definitely shared their mother's dangerous personality. Rules of Passion had made it to Grade four and she would push for Grade one this season just like her elder sister no matter the cost. The dark bay mare bit at Terri as she saddled her stomping her hooves to throw a fit and screaming to get a move on it. As a juvenile she was a bit of the nicer cord but as she grew and matured she became what her mother desired a beast within all reason Terri was one to tolerate her and her elder sister when she was in her grasp but now it was just Rula. "Oh hey now cut it out Rula before you hurt yourself. I swear you never give up do you?" Terri spoke about placing the bridle and reins on her. It took quite a few moments before the mare was ready to go.
Luckily Sable had Cali in a different area she accepted Sable as her jockey but still as a juvenile she had many things to learn and grasp over but she was no fool if Sable was impatient she would not budge nor would she tolerate the being. The grey filly allowed the human onto her back and walked her own stance letting Sable guide her to their partner. Approaching Terri and Rula was quite difficult, Sable swallowed harshly rethinking how this meet would go. When Cali approached from the side, Rules of Passion only swung her head at the younger sister before raising her head with an angry glare at the grey filly Terri had rose her hand at Sable to stop Cali in her tracks, the familiar scent coming off the grey filly through Rula in a trance of a challenge and she did not like it one bit.
Excalibur's Stone had rose to her two back hooves before throwing herself down, Sable kept a hold of the reins and her mane before soothing her down just a bit. "Sable start to walk Cali out to the tracks." Mason Connelly the trainer said as he had walked by to see the commotion in act shaking his head before walking out to find his notes he had left back at the car. Sable followed directions turning Excalibur's Stone away from her stubborn sister and to the tracks before Terri got control of Rula once again. Rula was a scary 17.1 hands high mare the tall sibling to the Passionate Ruler and Heart of Stone foals she was the monster height one. She was in fact a bully on the tracks and with her show in the Breeder's Cup Sprint this year would be her year to shine.
Rules of Passion had small eyes glance to her given her full blooded sister Passion Heart became a dangerous turf mare within her senior year on the tracks. It would be Rula to prove her dominance over the dirt and as a sprinter. She would take all the names offered to her and she wouldn't care passing that finish line was her inner desire and she would bring down anyone who dared cross her path. She had won a Horse of the year race just in her second run of her three year old career and she would honor that winning by taking on more wins this year. She will prove that she everything her sister was and would go down swinging if she had to. Terri walked her out onto the tracks before coming face to face or side to side with Cali and looking her in the eyes Rula rose her head again pounding the ground as tough as she could, Cali mocking the motion biting at her older sister with just as much aggression given to her.
The two were then latched away into the wind moving with ease the echoes of their hooves was heard all around the track with Cali pushing for the lead and Rula holding back in the closing position she through her ears back with the dirt in her eyes and a grey butt in front of her. With her massive size Rula held off from finding her strides and would wait to search for them, she wanted to wait for the right moment before making her rights due and taking down the little filly that could. The only bad motion here was that both horses took to stalking and once the near middle of the back stretch pulled along Rula gained stamina and began to stalk her prey like a hungry lioness. Cali unfortunately held her sire's intelligence and as one of the first foals to TDI Live This Lie she had his keen movements. She had the energy and confidence just as he had in the racing community.
Cali slowed her pace to stalk Rula before the dark bay mare approached from the outside towering over her like David and Goliath she took one look at the filly's eyes and bumped her slightly before Rula lifted her head high and took off with much regard of who was on her back. Rules of Passion pushed Cali to her limits before building the stamina and momentum to attack her rightful position and take the lead with nothing but a mere dance from the dark bay mare kicking and screaming like a mere child. Rula would be as known as being the older sister taunting, playing, aggravating everything she could to have Cali stand down but the grey filly snared back in rage bucking at Rula with no sense of direction she soon fled off the tracks with Sable on the back and Rula brushing it away like it was nothing. The glares Rula gave others did scare Terri quite a bit but she wouldn't let Rula harm others for one bit.
