The day grew glorious with it just reaching to be 10 am and Meredith and Chris both had been ready to take out two horses for their weekly workouts. Meredith would be riding Justa Muffin son Get Loose in the Agerasia Stakes against stablemate DragonHeart and Miss Josephine. The young colt would not be willing to stand down so easily. Get Loose was on the low at racing and now the staff wanted to bring him out and shoot for the stars. Chris Stevens was announced the new jockey to Livin' The Jazz the black stallion by Jazzman out of Livin' The Dream. He was entered in the WOODFORD RESERVE TURF CLASSIC* against some of the greats.
Both of them were dying to head out to the turf track Jax rose his head at the grey colt and was pleased to have a workout buddy. The stallion was a closer and a very good one at that and Get Loose started from the front and slowed his pace when the back stretch came. Get Loose was a nice colt and he would certainly pick up soon enough. The two started out with a simple trot Chris looking at Meredith with a smile across his face. "Let's take them for a short run. Ossie hasn't raced in awhile so lets take it easy." Chris suggested taking Jax out into a slow gallop with Get Loose soon to follow. Meredith had a busy schedule with her horses with Reflected in Water in the Red Mile she had to pick up the pace with this horse as well.
Get Loose followed the path of Livin' The Jazz and began to match his pace evenly coming from the inside. Jax pushed Ossie as he came from the inside pairing up his strides the black stallion snorted with frustration but let it go with him slowing down and taking his gallops easily. Jax was a horse with high energy and for him to run at a slow pace had him irritable which meant he would definitely do harder work in the race. Get Loose was a strong competitor and he liked to tire out his race mates when he got the chance to.
The two pushed forward when the final turn came and the black stallion remained loyal to his jockey's commands and remained at a good stride while Get Loose took the effort to go at his own will. "Come on boy nice and easy." Meredith said to Ossie before pushing him a little faster to pass the wire with a sense of hope for both horses. Jax was head on his heels passing the mark they were supposed to. Both jockey's felt proud and felt this workout would come to push the horses to run a better race.
