A bay colt pounded at the door of his stall ready to get out everyone knew the attitude's of the bay juvenile, Dancing Fool was the culprit. Carlos Sanchez was his jockey of choice and the two made quite the pair as he headed out to the stables and grabbed the lead rope. Approaching the stall Bane poked his head out with a neigh for the pushy notion. "Easy there, we are going in no time." Carlos said latching the lead rope onto the halter and opening the stall to walk the bay colt out to the driveway. Dancing Fool was entered in the Indiana Futurity where he would be up against such a class like Ultimate Revenge and Jericho. The bay Colt was on the urge of a break away and he wouldn't be so nice this time.
Joining them today was a chestnut mare with 5 years of running. Red Admiral recently rejoined Nature Blues and with that she won the Valorizzare Derby and would be taking on the next leg. This would certainly be a great experience for both horses as Red Admiral had age and Bane had the stamina and speed to push the old mare. The tall chestnut mare looked down at Bane with a flicker of her tail and the snort from her nostrils she looked away unpleased. Both horses approached the practice track like nothing was happening, Bane trotted out to show off towards the other but Addy went without care.
Both horses started out in a trot Bane unsure of Addy's movements. Of course the bay colt immediately headed for the lead Addy taking her time. The chestnut mare would go for one more year before taking on the broodmare barn as a mother and she would show fire in her heart. She began to pick up the pace once she caught onto Bane's style, she was focused on saving her energy against horses such as Supernatural and Italian Ice at her heels. They may have been known favorites but Addy would definitely keep up the fight against those powerful horses. Once the proper time came, Addy's strides moved quickly and she through the dirt behind her as she approached the outside of Dancing Fool, whom was now slowing down to save his stamina.
While both horses were battling it out Red Admiral began to push the bay colt faster taunting him forward as Bane snorted through his nostrils with fire. "Alright Bane she wants to push us huh? Why don't we take this old red lady for a ride?" Carlos said asking for another fast pace stride in Bane as the colt turned loose and set free towards the final length of his given time. Terri Lane was not going to let Carlos go that easy, Red Admiral stood at least 17.1 hands high you could definitely see the difference in height in the two, Addy took off and pushed herself through passed the wire with Bane at what would be a photo finish to the day.
"You should never under estimate me Carlos.." Terri said rubbing Addy's neck gently. Carlos shook his head with a sarcastic smile and they walked the horses off the track to fight for the big win the following week...
