QUEEN'S HONESTY Jockeyed by Lawrence Kaine
Gin Talking Stakes Workout - February Wk 1
Confidence and bravery was the thought and minds of some horses. Queen's Honesty was as arrogant as ever feisty and independent. Lawrence wasn't to sure about this filly although she was a beautiful girl. With a broken blaze Queen's Honesty was a new juvenile to the tracks. A granddaughter to Royal Red Richard, she was just as her heart desired. Adjusting his body onto the filly's back and into the saddle he admired her profound attitude as she danced away onto the turf track. The dark bay flourished with her tail raised and her head close to her chest happy to go out of her stall.
Entered in the Gin Talking stakes as her first race she would be up against her own gender. Gate one placed Luciana by Durango Racing stables, an unknown lined filly with a great demeanor. Valkyrie Stables Summer Romance stood proudly in gate two. Queen's Honesty was in gate three and Spitterfly took gate four. Lightly galloping with the start of the track Lawrence gritted the reins in his hands before wanting to take her out faster. The tension Queen had was light as she decided to pull faster gating away from the railing the filly properly went into the proper gears as she would let the rider on her back feel the wind. She would be welcomed upon the turf triple tiara at least that's what she would be aimed for.
a bloodline of Royal Red Richard was welcomed onto the tracks once again. "Alright girl let's see what you got...Come on haa" He said as he then gently bumped the filly with his heels and she began to take off along the back stretch proving her stamina and speed honorable. Queen impaled the turf with her hooves pulling away faster as she was told. Not having to run like this before Queen felt a small stance of adrenaline as she pulled the corner with no problem. Moving closer to the rail to gain another length of speed the veins along her body popped out like a balloon. The filly was small she moved like an engine feeling every muscle expand with each stride. Lawrence raised himself off her back to release the weight as she was flying down the track.
Coming to the home stretch of the track Queen raced further pushing her body to reach her destination. The filly would be up against great horses while this was her first race Queen's Honesty was sure to take off from the gate. When she bolted passed the wire Lawrence slowed the filly down making a hasty U-turn. The filly snorted through her nostrils as she once again pranced along to head off the track happy as a filly could be. "Well aren't you just a little show off." He said rubbing the filly's neck to praise her. She was a fierce runner and Lawrence feared she would fight her way through not caring for the damages. She was a front runner and with that she always had to be in the front.
Sliding off her back, Lawrence pulled the filly placing a blanket over her in place of the saddle so she could be a little more comfortable. She raised her head and began to nudge against Lawrence's shoulder as a playful gesture. She was a very proud filly and would grow to be another champion. "Let's get you cleaned up and fed for your race." He said smiling placing her in the stall and placed a full bucket of oats in the stall with her. "Sleep well Queen. I shall see you soon." He said before walking out closing the stable doors to prepare for race day.
