SAMANTHA'S WISDOM Ridden by Meredith Hently
SEPTEMBER WORKOUT
SEPTEMBER WORKOUT
Meredith Hently was one of the new jockey's at Bowen Acres, she was hired along with her twin brother who was a trainer there now also. She was assigned to Samantha's Wisdom a bay filly with high hopes. Her first race would be in September week one but, they were hoping to enter her in all of the September weeks. She brushed the filly before placing the saddle on her back. Their weren't many maidens anymore because of how late in the season but, they couldn't hurt but try.[/size]
Using a step stool to get up on the filly's back she then walked on the horse to head towards the track. Coming up to the tracks Meredith had Sam come to a trot at the beginning already starting out. The filly kept her head low but, her ears forward trotting at a pace as if she was showing herself off at a horse show. Meredith remained quiet she wasn't much of a talker anyway. The filly went a few furlongs with a trot on a dirt track her favor in the racing ground.
Samantha's Wisdom was not a sprinter she ran 8-11 Furlongs which was a short distance at least to some. She then came to a gallop switching her feet to spread out further while she raised her head and took off how she wanted to not how Meredith told her. This filly was one to not follow what she was told to do unless she was in the mood to but, that was only because she grew tired of the whips and other things. The filly could feel the sense of speed out of the track like many other horses. When she felt it was right then she would come to a full rocket run.
A lot more was to be done with Samantha and this race would prove where she would stand. Maybe she was a filly to race on Green horse fields they were still debating. The filly pulled herself through the wire and came to a slow as they would wait for the race tomorrow. Samantha's Wisdom had heart and she needed alot of work to become like the Grade One's out there.
(Sorry if this workout isn't good. Wrote it in the middle of the night on pain killers.)
