RYCK O' SHAY Ridden by Lawrence Kaine
Decepticon Maiden workout // August
Ryck O' Shay was a new colt at Bowen Acres and he would officially be racing on The Wire on dirt tracks as a sprinter who preferred furlongs of 6-9 distances. Lawrence Kaine was his jockey and he enjoyed training this new colt. Walking nicely out onto the track Ryck was as calm as a feather shaking off the flies off his face. Lawrence checked his hooves and legs to make sure nothing was wrong with the colt.
Budging the colt to go to a trot at the start Ryck went and first started to go at a sideways trot throughout the whole first of the length and when coming to the turn Ryck straightened himself out and went on to a gallop easily speeding away as a sprinter it was known for him using all the power in his hind legs he pushed away from the ground like he was spooked and continued to follow the track away from the railing. He was a horse born to run and Lawrence felt that power within this chestnut but, this was the colt's first race who knew what would happen.
Their were experienced racers out there and Ryck didn't have the best lineage out there being from unknown lines it was difficult for the colt or would be. Ryck O' Shay was named after his bouncy ways out on the track or when he first went into training he was using other trainer horses bouncing away from horse to horse. It was like a bullet ryck o shaying off of a metal piece. It was a unique name for such a horse.
Lawrence would have to train him to take the lead one of these days instead of falling in the back because it was rather scary at times. The colt was sweaty all the way down the back stretch and when pulling for the final turn he went faster as normal and finally slowed down when pulled to do so. Stretching his legs was the key to get him worked up for the Decepticon Maiden coming up and he would be prepared for anything. This colt was a baby and he just had a blast out on the tracks not caring who he was racing.
When finished Ryck averted back to his sideways walk and nobody knew why the colt walked that way but, it was only on the tracks maybe it was to push others out of the way or to be noticed no one knew. He walked off the track with his tail raised as is he was happy as well as his ears and head slowing down his breathing so he could rest until the day arrived.
